Spots filling up fast! Accident Avoidance Workshop

Thanks to your PTSA, this new-driver training in vehicle control and extreme defensive driving is coming right to Lassiter High School! 

Accident Avoidance Workshop is a 7 hour, hands-on, one-of-a-kind, parent ride along program which gives your student experience with vehicle control under the limits of their OWN car's capabilities. So, when they are inevitably faced with an emergency, they will have already practiced how to handle it!

Program is comprised of one 3 hour classroom session to be held at Lassiter High School on Thursday, December 10, 6:25 to 9:10 PM, and a 4 and a half hour driving session held in the Mabry Middle School parking lot on Saturday, December 12 or Sunday, December 13 (two session options offered per day).

Cobb County School students are eligible for a reduced program cost of $195 (vs. regular program cost of $249).

Toys for Tots Drive Kickoff!

The Lassiter PTSA is once again supporting the annual Toys for Tots campaign by collecting new toys for needy children throughout the holiday season. Help us as we kick off this year's collection efforts by bringing a new and unwrapped toy to the big football game this Friday night, November 6, at Lassiter! Collection bins will be located near The Frank ticket booths!

Reaching out to our Community

The Lassiter High School PTSA is proud to kick off "Reaching out to our Community" - a series of workshops, forums, and seminars, tackling issues within our community of students, teachers, and parents. Our first forum will be "Conducting your Job Search in the Changing World of Work" facilitated by Manpower Regional Director, Beth Herman.  The initial forum will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 6:30 PM, Lassiter High School Theatre. Session is presented free of charge.

Be There Campaign

The Be There campaign is a non-profit organization that relies on simple messaging to communicate important reminders to parents about what it means to be involved in their children's lives, development and education. Probe College Fairs

Each year nearly every college in Georgia and numerous surrounding state institutions travel throughout Georgia to provide information and literature including applications and financial aid information to students and parents.  All students are invited to attend, but juniors and seniors are especially encouraged to participate, in this information gathering process.  Further information can be obtained at www.gaprobe.org. The Probe College Fairs will take place at the following locations:

Marietta High School

September 14

6:30 – 8:30 PM

 

North Point Mall

September 15

6:00 – 9:00 PM

 

Kennesaw State University

September 22

6:00 – 8:30 PM

 

Cherokee High School

October 14

6:00 – 8:30 PM

Upcoming LHS College Visits

Any Junior or Senior interested in going to see a college representative in the Career Center must come to Guidance the morning of the visit between 7:45 and 8:15 to get a pass. The pass then must be signed by the teacher who's class you will miss. Remember, permission to attend is the teacher's option.
